Reward for a week's worth of dog sitting
Ellary took care of our next door neighbor's dog this last week which entailed letting him out in the morning, in at night with two meals per day. Ellary took her duties one step further and played with Titan after school as well. For all her hard work our neighbor Kurt and his girlfriend Tanya brought her some goodies from Disney World. More than a fair trade in Ellary's opinion.

A Night at the Museum...Dinosaur Style
Last night we surprised Ellary with a trip to the Museum of Nature and Science to watch two dinosaur movies in 3D. She also got to meet Dr. Scott the Paleontologist from one of her favorite shows, "Dinosaur Train".

Six years ago we brought this little girl all the way home from China. What a difference all these years have made in all our lives.

Weekend Fun Before School Starts on Monday
Ellary and I took the day off Friday to goof around before school starts and decided to ride the Alpine Slide in Golden. Our girl had a blast on her first chair ride and first AND second alpine slide rides. You can never ride just once.

Dinosaur Camp & the golf course
Ellary went to Dinosaur camp last week at the Museum of Nature and Science and was lucky enough to have Uncle Mike on drop off and pick up duty. It is always good to fit in a trip to the driving range.

Camping with Casey
Last weekend we camped at Lake Granby with Ellary's best friend Casey and her dad Gene. The girls fished a little and otherwise had a great time playing in the water and at camp.

Lakewood Tiger girls rule...
At least that is their rallying cry. Tonight was Ellary's first softball game she did great. She hit the ball twice and if not for a really good play at first base, that beat her by half a step, she would have gone 2 for 2. We were really proud of her and mostly glad that she had a lot of fun. The won 24-14 and it is clear that these girls have been working working hard in practice because they all hit very well.

St. B's Spaghetti Dinner
Tonight we had a nice dinner at St. B's and low and behold our little girl, sometimes referred to as "the luckiest girl in the world", won the first raffle basket drawn. Her basket is full of bubbles, squirt gun, jump rope and sidewalk chalk. She didn't stop there either and followed it up with a basket full of art supplies. I am sure she will have a good time using them with Grandma Ranney on Mother's Day.

Tucson Golf
Ellary and Lori joined Mike and I for a round of golf at the Gallery Golf Club. Before this day Ellary had only been to the driving range and never actually out on the course. She was used to the little cart driving around picking up golf balls which led to her cutest comment. After we teed off on #1 she asked, "Uncle Mike, who is going to pick up the balls we hit out there?"
She soon learned that we would go hit them again and we could also have golf cart races. The teams were Uncle Mike and Mom vs. Ellary and Dad. She really liked the trick Uncle Mike pulled by putting our cart in neutral and turning the key off.
