Ellary's Christmas Program

Ellary's Christmas program was last week and we got a couple short clips of the catchy tunes sung by grades K-5 while the 6-8 graders put on a short skit. It isn't easy to pick Ellary out of the crowd but there may be a prize in it or those of you who are able. Only kidding...there won't be any prizes. However, it is easier to find her in the second vid than the first so good luck and Merry Christmas.

Race for the Cure

Lori and Ellary joined more than 50,000 in support of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and their efforts to find a cure for breast cancer. The 5k walk through downtown Denver is always one of the largest in the country.

Ellary also reminded me that it is NOT a winning race.

Fall has come to Colorado

The trees know fall as arrived in Colorado...the rest of us not so much. The colors are nice and we are not complaining about the late summer weather. Snow will be flying soon enough.

Sunset @ Aqua Golf

Mom was out with the girls last night so after sharing a pizza Ellary and I went to Aqua Golf to hit some balls. As you can see she really enjoys it especially when she can see them land in the water.

Lakeside Amusement Park

We spent the day Sunday at Lakeside Amusement Park with Casey, Ann and Gene. The girls had fun on all the kiddie rides but we saved the best for last. Both girls were up for a ride on the big wooden roller coaster called the Cyclone and it is doubtful they will ever ride the kiddie land version again.
Of course I am tall enough

Eagle Eye and her Tomato Harvest

Ellary calls herself the Eagle Eye as she crawls amongst the sprawling tomato plants. The harvest is coming fast and furious these days. Still a long way to go before the cold weather hits. This year may end up being a bumper crop for us.

Echo Lake

We took the afternoon Wednesday to get up in the mountains and visit Echo Lake Park for a short hike and snack by the lake. Ellary as usual enjoyed climbing rocks and really got a kick out of the fast running water as we made our way home.

A Well Deserved Kickboard

Ellary has worked hard to reach the three goals we established at the beginning of the summer. Previously we shared her achievements in riding bike without training wheels, coasting on her scooter and now she has passed swim lessons taught by possibly the worst swim instructors...her parents (kidding Lori and I both know our way around the pool so she is in good hands). Our girl is now proficient at floating on her back and stomach, can get to bottom of pool to retrieve pool toys and does a very good job swimming back and forth between M&D.

Therefore, in passing her class she is now the VERY proud owner of a Hello Kitty kick board. Can you tell whether she likes it or not?
